Responsibilities
The Strategic Cost Manager is responsible for providing strategic cost roadmap and cost leadership, for BU TV organization. The role is be highly visible. The role must have the working knowledge of applying Target Setting for new developement products and will provide cost roadmap and/or value engineering to architecture teams to reach high performance and cost targets. Reporting to head of Costing Dept.
Work with the Innovation & Development Architectures and Project team to define the relevant TV platforms and requirements to support and improve the TV business.
Ownership for developing platform and electrical solutions/circuit cost estimates, forecasts and reviews for 1 to 2 years plan ahead.
Drive profitable design growth by providing analysis of results and reporting key metrics while advising the Leadership or Management team on risks and opportunities.
Provide Cost Leadership for new product introduction activities through Target Costing, and Margin Analysis, etc.
Lead cross-functional projects to drive simplification throughout the organization and to improve rigor in costing processes, reducing costs & improving transparency.
Effectively manage a team of Cost Engineers to identify and develop actions to ensure business support.
Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering with Supply Chain/Finance. MBA level preferred.
Minimum 5 years experience in electrical design for consumer electronics. And 2 to 3 years experience in business or finance.
Demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment
Experience in a product development environment is an advantage.
Experience in financial analysis to understand financial impact of changes to design specification.
Strong computer skills and modeling experience is required which might include: Microsoft Excel.
