Senior Technical Service and Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Join the team accountable for the technical interface with strategic customers within the Asia Pacific region, namely providing:

• 1) developmental support to strategic customers with respect to namely the food additives sector & industrial specialties applications with focus on paints & coatings & PVC.

• 2) focus on the identification of customer and market needs and

• 3) the development and implementation of new technologies and products.

• 4) deliver external papers and seminars at targeted journals or tradeshows.

• The individual must take ownership of projects and is accountable for the technical success at customers.

• Drive & implement new technology developed by R&D/TS&D for an application or customer to deliver defined growth in new revenue and EBIT contribution.

• Increase the technical reputation and presence in region through customer and industry contacts

• Identify customer or market specific opportunities for differentiated technical developments

• Utilize broad portfolio offering of additives to deliver unique solution approaches for developments

• Member of technical competency team responsible for specific sub-segments for IP assessment (external analysis and strategy), technology roadmap, gap analysis,

• Market trends, global knowledge transfer etc.

• Documentation of work through CRIs, Reports of Call, disclosures etc

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in chemistry/chemical engineering/Applied Chemistry/Organic Chemistry/Inorganic Chemistry. Formulation science experience and/or training would be an advantage.

• Previous experience with customers in a technical role is required, experience in the PVC and preferably food additives would be an advantage.

• Ability to speak English and Mandarin.

• Travel within the AP region (30-50%)

• Six Sigma GB Leader or BB certification is a plus.
