Supplier Quality Manager

Responsibilities

  • Interface with Quality organization and Management of potential new Suppliers

  • Participation in supplier sourcing and lead the quality related aspects in this process

  • Lead and take part in Supplier assessment teams, release the supplier for defined capability and commodity

  • Give input for and participate in negotiations on Quality clauses, WCA agreements and deploy GSRS way of working at Suppliers (where applicable)

  • Drive Supplier ownership of quality at initial stages (especially in the Value Proposition Debriefing, Assignment Agreed and Project Plan Committed phases) of the relationship

  • Educate the Supplier on Process and Quality Gates

  • Ensure all suppliers belonging to a commodity team conform to the Quality requirements at the moment of supplier induction

  • Manage programs increasing supplier capability in line with desired capability having commodity strategy as an input

  • Bi-yearly review with (Lead) SQM’s and QPL’s on supplier performance, as input for further fine tuning of the supplier selection process

  • Evaluate upcoming business models in the domain supplier-customer

  • Coordination of special, quality related projects across suppliers

  • Collate monthly & quarterly performance reporting

  • Manage the assessment/audit planning for the supply base of the commodity (included are all audit types)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with at least 4-8 yrs of relevant experience

  • Good inter-personal skills

  • Working in virtual teams

  • Good understanding of statistical methods, quality tools and methodologies ( QFD, CtQ breakdown, DFSS, SPC, AQP, FMEA, Control Plan)

  • Six Sigma GB/ BB certification preferred

  • Highly motivated, action oriented, persistent towards accomplishing tasks and drives for success

  • Ability to communicate well, oral and written, in English and local language

  • Sense of urgency

  • Cross functional skills/ experience and awareness of business requirements

  • Auditing Skills preferred to possess Lead Assessor/Auditor certification
